Idamer has a Temperate Deciduous Forest climate, which is characterized by warm and wet summers with mild and dry winters, and has spring, summer, fall and winter seasons. Winds in the region are strong and the temperature is generally cool with little variation. Precipitation is moderate, and the sky is partly cloudy.

Idamer sees a binary star overhead: Uuc, an average yellow star and Sic, an average blue star. Idamer also has a single moon: Elado, a small pale yellow moon. In the night sky, you see two celestial objects: a massive asteroid belt that has been around for decades and a massive black hole that has been around for all eternity.

Visitors are greeted with a solid Iron palisade that is 19 meters tall. The city wall protects the core 100% of the city, with 5 towers spread along the 2.86 kilometer wall.

Idamer is governed through an authoritarian government, where state authority is imposed onto many aspects of citizens' lives. The government as a whole is seen as surprisingly skillful. Officials in Idamer are often seen as fair and the policies are loved. The political influence of Idamer in the region is negligible due to a thwarted assassination attempt. In times of crisis, the population comes together and fights as one.

Idamer is ruled by Leader Elattars Leafoak. The Leader has been in power for decades and is respected by the people. There is secret opposition to the Leader and policies. The right to rule was granted by revolution, and that power is maintained through vague threats and a constant state of fear.

Laws are enforced by a mobsters, but are loosely enforced. Justice is served without trial, with a common punishment being indentured servitude.

Crime is unheard of. The most common crime is murder. The imprisonment rate is 1.58% of the population (23 adults).

Around town you'll hear the following legends:
  • Long, long ago in a city far, far away, the constable of North Garnron lived in peace. Things were quiet, but one day a murderer named Anraz slayed a local hero. The constable tried to kill Anraz, but failed miserably. Along came a hero named Idig Bonecrusher, who was a valiant knight. Idig had an idea to slay the murderer by causing a distraction while others struck. When Idig Bonecrusher faced the murderer, Idig Bonecrusher tricked Anraz and rescued the hostages.
  • Some time ago, the royals of Grunwood lived in peace. Things were always nice, but one day an evil demon named Gubd Bonesnapper slayed a local hero. The royals tried to stop the demon, but were caught. Along came a smitten mindflayer named Kil'k'morn, who was a skilled storyteller. Kil'k'morn had a plan to trick the demon by using magic to banish it. When Kil'k'morn faced the demon, Kil'k'morn defeated Gubd Bonesnapper and rescued Grunwood.
  • In days gone by, the royals of Jesbor Crest thrived. Things were quiet, but one day a spirit named Got destroyed a nearby village. The royals tried to stop the spirit, but didn't get close. Along came Danes Bersone the half-dwarf, who was a sneaky thief. Danes had a plan to trick the spirit by causing a distraction while others struck. When Danes Bersone faced the spirit, Danes Bersone defeated Got.
