Bayrun has a Temperate Deciduous Forest climate, which is characterized by warm and wet summers with mild and dry winters, and has spring, summer, fall and winter seasons. Winds in the region are mild and the temperature is generally mild with high variation. Precipitation is heavy, and the sky is continually overcast.

Bayrun sees a binary star overhead: Uux, a massive yellow star and Luc, a small blue star. Bayrun also has a single moon: Sinorope, an average bone white moon. In the night sky, you see three celestial objects: a massive black hole that has been around for centuries, a massive pulsar that has been around for only a few years, and an imposing galaxy that has been around for time immemorial.

Visitors are greeted with a recently repaired conglomerate stone barricade that is 14 meters tall. The city wall protects the core 100% of the city, with 5 towers spread along the 2.52 kilometer wall.

Bayrun is governed through a democracy, where the supreme power is retained by the people, but is exercised through a system of representation. The government as a whole is seen as surprisingly decent. Officials in Bayrun are often seen as decent and the policies are hated. The political influence of Bayrun in the region is flourishing due to a thwarted assassination attempt. In times of crisis, the population comes together and fights as one.

Bayrun is ruled by Governor Grimdor Platinumnose. The Governor has been in power for mere hours and is ridiculed by the people. There is minor opposition to the Governor and policies. The right to rule was granted by foreign imposition, and that power is maintained through vague promises and a constant state of hope.

Laws are enforced by a trade guild, who can be bribed. Justice is served without trial, with a common punishment being fines.

Around town you'll hear the following legends:
  • A long time ago, the townsfolk of North Hiapost thrived. Things were quiet, but one day Rhubbogh Legnor the devil destroyed a nearby village. The townsfolk tried to kill Rhubbogh Legnor, but failed miserably. Along came a flirtatious kobold named Nat, who was a sneaky thief. Nat had the thought to slay the devil by killing the devil while she slept. When Nat faced the devil, Nat killed the devil and rescued North Hiapost.
  • In days gone by, the royals of Larchbar thrived. Things were good, but one day a devil named Nhobgub Necknor took over the town. The royals tried to kill Nhobgub Necknor, but didn't get close. Along came a hero named Donry Peterord, who was an expert bowman. Donry had a plan to trick the devil by causing a distraction while others struck. When Donry Peterord faced the devil, Donry Peterord defeated Nhobgub Necknor.
  • In the olden days, the constable of San Grisax lived in peace. Things were good, but one day an evil vampire named Bylesey Windwind kidnapped a princess. The constable tried to kill Bylesey Windwind, but failed miserably. Along came a idealistic gnome named Jenxie Cogglebit, who was a valiant knight. Jenxie had a plan to trick the vampire by killing the vampire while she slept. When Jenxie Cogglebit faced the vampire, Jenxie Cogglebit banished Bylesey Windwind and rescued the hostages.
  • In the olden days, the villagers of Jonestop thrived. Things were good, but one day a dragon named Gok Boarfang destroyed a nearby village. The villagers tried to kill Gok Boarfang, but were caught. Along came Glodogh Skullcracker the orc, who was a valiant knight. Glodogh had a plan to trick the dragon by making a wager with Gok Boarfang. When Glodogh Skullcracker faced the dragon, Glodogh Skullcracker defeated Gok Boarfang and rescued Jonestop.
